Merry Christmas Hello Kitty fans!

I got a cute Hello Kitty item today for Christmas: a reusable bag!

The best part is, $6.50 of the price of the bag goes to support Red Cross recovery efforts in Japan from the earthquake and tsunami they had back in March!

Besides the bag, I have some Pocky-esque Hello Kitty biscuits that have been sitting unopened in my room for a while:

Oh and my work has Hello Kitty candy necklaces too. I'll have to snap a pic of that for you guys. As soon as I saw them, I told my coworker Rachel, who's a big Hello Kitty fan. She wanted to get one so I grabbed her one when getting a product for a customer on the front end. I was going to tell her about it but got called away before I could, so I just had to leave it on her register. I told her about it later though.

Oh and I looked online, and it turns out the bag is just a canvas tote bag, not one of those reusable shopping bags - though I'll probably use it for one.

I'm looking to sell these two Panda Hello Kitty plushies. I received them as a gift from a friend several years go, but being as we are longer friends and I am in need of money right now (broke college student looking for work), I need to find new homes for these cuties.

My friend bought these at a convention. I'm not sure how much she paid for each one, but they both still have their tags and are in excellent condition. They've just been hanging out on a shelf on my desk for the past few years.

Price: I would like to get $15 for each of the kitties. If anyone is interested in purchasing both, I will knock $5 off the price and take $25 for the set.

Taken by me and edited into a (near) professional-looking "stock" image (for ebay, but they currently aren't selling). I have 8 of these new retractable ballpoint pens that i'm trying to get rid of (of course, I kept one for myself :p)

Each pen is $2.50 (to the US, other countries would be more, contact me for prices), plus $1.20 for shipping (US only.) These are new.

Just found a couple of cute HK pictures on weheartit and thought I'd share with you all. :) The glasses are actually sunglasses. I'll have to find the link to the website that sells them and post it. I plan on buying a pair for myself, actually.....

Well, this community showed up on the LJ home page today. I'm old enough to remember when Hello Kitty first appeared on the US market, though it was many years before I found out about the maneki neko and realized that "Hello Kitty" was a weird translation of that name.

The userpic is our cat Ista, who moved in on us from the alley about 4 1/2 years ago. When my wife asked on one of her forums whether all cats swat at your leg from behind, two people independently answered "Only calicoes!" -- which describes the maneki neko with her coloration and raised paw.

But specifically, it happens that I have just written and posted in another community a song involving Hello Kitty. Some of you may (or may not) enjoy it.

I think we're all pretty hard core HK fans but we all have a sanrio character we like right after HK, right? I know I'm not alone in this. What other sanrio characters do you guys like? In my case I would have to say Badtz_Maru.

I thought I'd share my latest HK craft as an offering to the community.  I made this tabbard for my baby girl when we last went to a medieval fair.  I had n pink material on hand, so it ended up a bit of an ugly colour (perhaps the colour scheme would work better for Chococat?) but I like it.  It sewed up really quickly but then I couldn't decide on a crest.  Until...........

I had this case custom made for my Blackberry Tour 9630 and now I have an iphone and can no longer use it! I really want it to go to another HK lover because it's beyond cute (and I paid $75 for it!!) but when I went to take it off my BB the top connectors on the case broke, so it doesn't pop on properly at the top but it will still stay on the BB (as you can see in the photos) and it can probably be fixed rather easily. The gems and rose, bow, heart and huge HK face are so securely stuck on there they have not budged in over a year and I can't bring myself to just let it sit in a drawer and collect dust! So if anyone is interested, I am only asking $20! Please email me because I don't get on LJ as often as I used to. Thanks! JLMCD1988@aol.com
